KAILUA KONA, Haw. --Â The Arizona women's golf team looks to defend its title at the Pac-12 Preview in Hawaii this week. The Wildcats edged out Cal for a one-stroke victory in the 2018 edition.
Â
Arizona is coming off a third-place finish at the East Lake Cup last week after beating the reigning national champion Duke Blue Devils in the consolation match. Junior
Yu-Sang Hou will be rejoining the team after competing in the LPGA Swinging Skirts tournament this weekend. Yu-Sang shot 6-under last year to win the individual competition.
Â
Freshman
Vivian Hou continues to star in her first semester as a Wildcat, shooting under par in each of her five competitive rounds in October. Sophomore
Ya Chun Chang had a great week at East Lake, winning both of her matches 5&4.Â
Â
Freshman
Therese Warner had her best performance of the young season at East Lake, carding a 2-under 70 in the stroke play round, finishing only one shot off the lead. Junior
Hollie Muse will round out the squad at Nanea.
Â
"Great golf course here in Hawaii where we won last year," said head coach
Laura Ianello. "Therese is coming off a really good tournament at East Lake so we're hoping she can carry the momentum over from East Lake.
Yu-Sang Hou is flying in after playing in the LPGA Swinging Skirts event. The ladies are ready to go here in Hawaii!"
Â
This is the final event of the fall season for the Wildcats, with their next tournament not coming until February. Play begins Monday morning at 10:30 a.m. MST.
