Tucson, Ariz. – The University of Arizona men's track and field team is ranked 23rd in the week five USTFCCCA poll. The Cats jumped up 18 spots from last week's rankings. The men hold a pair of top-three NCAA marks.
Jordan Geist owns the No. 2 shot put mark on the NCAA list and is the top mark on the MPSF list. The sophomore threw a season-best mark of 21.15m (69-4.75) at the Texas Tech Shootout.
Carlos Villarreal clocked his third sub-4 mile on Saturday. He owns the No. 3 spot on the NCAA list and the top MPSF spot with a personal best time of 3:57.27.
Umajesty Williams ranks first in the MPSF in the 400-meter dash. The sophomore clocked an indoor-best time of 46.61 at the Texas Tech Shootout.
Justice Summerset is second on the MPSF high jump list. The junior cleared 2.17m (7-1.5) at the Texas Tech Shootout.
The Cats are set to compete in the MPSF Championships hosted by the University of Washington beginning Friday at 1 p.m. MST.
