TUCSON, Ariz. --
Taylor McQuillin threw a two-hit shutout and 12th-ranked Arizona defeated Drake, 4-0, on Thursday night at Hillenbrand Stadium.
The Wildcats (10-5) outhit the Bulldogs (10-5), 10-2, in the game, including home runs from
Alyssa Palomino-Cardoza (6),
Dejah Mulipola (5) and
Tamara Statman (3). The Cats increased their Pac-12-lead, bringing their 2019 total to 25 home runs through 15 games.

Seven different Wildcats had hits on the night, including two-hit efforts from
Malia Martinez, Statman and
Rylee Pierce.
McQuillin was brilliant once again for the Wildcats, throwing her third shutout in her last four outings. She improved to 4-4 on the season with the 10-strikeout, two-hit complete game effort.
The game was scoreless until the bottom of the third inning, when the Cats hit two home runs, a solo homer from Palomino-Cardoza and a two-run shot from Mulipola, to open the scoring.
In the sixth, Statman recorded her second hit of the day, a home run off the batter's eye in centerfield, her third home run in just 14 at-bats this year. The senior is already one homer shy of her career high.Â
The game was the first of six that the Wildcats will play over the next four days at Hillenbrand. The Cats will host the Wildcat Invitational, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, at Hillenbrand this weekend, starting on Friday with Drake and Kent State, beginning at 4 p.m. MST.
