Cats Remain in Seventh Place after Day 2 of Northrop Grumman

PALOS VERDES, Calif. --The Arizona women's golf team survived another tough and rainy day at Palos Verdes Golf Club, finishing the second round in solo 7th place. The Cats shot 13-over on the day, five shots better than yesterday.
Sophomore Yu-Sang Hou starred once again, recording five birdies on her way to an even-par 71. She currently sits at 1-over, putting her in a tie for second place. Senior Haley Moore put together a solid round, but double-bogeyed her last hole to shoot a 3-over 74 and drop her into a tie for 17th. Junior Sandra Nordaas posted her second consecutive round of 76, and senior Bianca Pagdanganan shot a 6-over 77, improving on yesterday's round by four strokes. Freshman Ya Chun Chang equaled Nordaas' 76 to round out the team.
"Proud of the ladies for hanging tough in again some tough conditions," said head coach Laura Ianello. "We played probably about ten holes in rain today, some cold temperatures and high winds. Yu-Sang Hou is only a couple shots off the lead. Looking forward to watching her compete tomorrow and hopefully take the individual championship. As for the rest of the team, they are all looking to move up the leaderboard. We hope to have better putting tomorrow and a respectable finish."
The final round will begin tomorrow at 10 a.m. with the Cats 25 shots off the pace set by Stanford.
