AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Two current Arizona Wildcats and one future Wildcat will be competing in the inaugural Augusta National Women's Amateur this week. The brand-new event is one of the biggest women's golf events of the year.
Senior
Haley Moore, sophomore
Yu-Sang Hou, and incoming freshman Vivian Hou (sister of Yu-Sang) will be representing the Wildcats at the tournament. Arizona legends Annika Sorenstam and Lorena Ochoa will also be taking part in a special first tee ceremony on Wednesday morning.
The event consists of two rounds at Champions Retreat Golf Club on Wednesday and Thursday, followed by a final round at Augusta National on Saturday. All 72 competitors will also have the opportunity to play a practice round at Augusta National on Friday. Only the top 30 golfers make the cut to play the final round.
The final round of the ANWA will be broadcasted on NBC from 12-3 p.m. on Saturday.
Yu-Sang Hou tees off at 6:24 a.m. MST on Wednesday, followed by
Haley Moore at 7:00 a.m. MST and Vivian Hou at 7:24 a.m. MST.
