LOS ANGELES, CALIF. – On Friday night, the Cats wrapped up their second night of competition in Los Angeles. Leading the Cats in the Mt. SAC Relays and Bryan Clay Invitational were seniors Karolina Pahlitzsch, Bailey Roth and redshirt junior Carlos Villarreal.
 
Mama, There Goes That Man
At the Bryan Clay Invitational, Villarreal took second in the 1500-meter run. The redshirt junior crossed the line in a personal-best time of 3:37.22 to set the No. 2 mark on the NCAA, IAAF and all-time Arizona list.
 
Pahlitzsch Leads 400-Meter Group
Pahlizsch won the 400-meter dash on Friday at the Mt. SAC Relays. She clocked a time of 53.37 to set a new PR and moves up to the No. 9 spot on the all time Arizona list. Senior Diana Gajda followed in second with a season-best time of 53.81. Sophomore Shannon Meisberger took fourth in 54.12 to set a new PR. On the men's side, junior Zakee Washington stopped the clock in 47.22 and senior Daniel Egbo followed in 48.56.
 
Roth Leads Distance at Mt. SAC
Roth clocked a season-best time of 8:38.68 in the 3K steeplechase to finish as the second collegiate competitor in the event, third overall. The senior's mark is good for the No. 5 time on the NCAA list and No. 1 in the Pac-12 Conference. Jennie Baragar-Petrash clocked a time of 16:15.68 to set a new PR in the 5K.
 
Buchanan Leads 800-Meter Group to PRs
Redshirt freshman Andy Buchanan clocked a time of 1:51.32 in the 800-meter run to set a new PR and take first in his heat, second overall. Freshman Tanner Hagstrom finished fourth overall with a time of 1:51.45 to set a new PR. Sophomore Collin Dylla followed in 1:51.69 to finish sixth to clock a new PR. Junior Cal Westaway clocked a personal-best time of 1:53.79.
 
The Cats will resume action in Los Angeles tomorrow beginning at 1:15 p.m. MST at El Camino College's Murdock Stadium.
