Cats End Pac-12 Championship Run against Cal

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The No. 13 Arizona Beach Volleyball team fell to both No. 1 UCLA and No. 10 Cal Friday afternoon to end their Pac-12 Championship run . The Cats will now await the results of the NCAA Selection Show Sunday, April 28th. The top eight teams in the country will complete for the NCAA Division 1 title in Gulf Shores, Ala., May 3-5 .

"It's teams like this, the one that represented the U of A and our athletics department with nothing but class and professionalism, that can really remind you why one would get into the coaching profession", said head coach Steve Walker.  "This group improved more than maybe any we've ever had over the course of a season and earned themselves the title of winningest team in program history. Our seniors were tremendous this weekend and should be extremely proud of their efforts."

We had some things out of our control not break our way in this event, but we gave our all and have nothing to hang our heads about. The future is certainly bright for Arizona Beach Volleyball, but right now I'm really proud of this group."

The Cats took the beach this morning to face. No. 1 UCLA. Arizona battled but was not able to get on the board and lost to the Bruins 3-0. Looking to bounce back, they returned to face  California in the contenders bracket.
