Moore Finishes Tied for 7th at Inaugural ANWA

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The inaugural Augusta National Women's Amateur concluded on Saturday, completing a historic week for the entire sport. Arizona senior Haley Moore was among the 30 women who made the cut to play the final round at Augusta.
Moore displayed incredible consistency throughout the round, making par on her first 15 holes. She then hit a wonderful iron shot to within two feet on the famed 16th hole, leading to her only birdie of the day. Overall, it was a round of 72 (E) for Moore, who finished the week at even-par and in a tie for 7th.
Sophomore Yu-Sang Hou and incoming freshman Vivian Hou played the first two rounds of the tournament at Champions Retreat Golf Club, but narrowly missed the cut by a shot. Regardless, it was a historic week in Georgia for all competitors.
"This week has been amazing," said Moore. "I am blessed and grateful to be given this opportunity to play the sport that I love at Augusta National. I have cherished every moment from this week and this is a big step up for women's golf. It just amazed me how many young girls were out there today watching us. My favorite moment of the tournament was hitting a shot to two feet on the par-3 16th with a lot of people watching. It was so awesome to hear them roar. I am feeling pretty confident in parts of my game that I haven't felt in a while. With our conference tournament approaching and then postseason play, it feels great."
Moore and the rest of the Wildcats will be back in action at the Pac-12 Championship April 15-17.
