Men’s Tennis Puts Four on Pac-12 All-Academic Team

TUCSON, Ariz. – On Tuesday morning, the Pac-12 announced its men's tennis All-Academic team, and the Wildcats were represented by Filip Malbasic, Alejandro Reguant, Jonas Maier and Carlos Hassey. Malbasic was named to the First Team, Reguant was named to the Second Team while Maier and Hassey were named honorable mention.

Arizona has the third-most student-athletes represented on the All-Academic Team.

Malbasic, who carries a 3.78 GPA as a Pre-Business major, is making his first appearance on the All-Academic Team in his first year eligible. The sophomore, who is currently ranked No. 79 in the country, finished the season with a team-high 26 total wins, including 18 wins during the spring season.

Reguant is making is second appearance on the All-Academic Team as he was on the First Team last season. The 3.58 Business Management major finished the season with 13 singles wins during the spring season while leading the team in doubles wins alongside Malbasic.

Maier, who is has earned a 3.16 GPA as a Business Management major, was named to the All-Academic Team in his first year eligible. Prior to his time at Arizona, he was named Mountain West All-Academic in 2017. On the court, he collected 15 wins during the spring season, the second-most on the team.

Last but not least, Hassey is making his first appearance on the All-Academic Team in his first year eligible as well. The 3.09 Communication major finished the season with the second-most singles wins on the team with 18.
