TUCSON, Ariz. – On Wednesday, Jordan Geist earned his fourth USTFCCCA West Region Field Athlete of the Year honor today, the USTFCCCA Announced. The sophomore earns the honor following an outdoor season that saw a Pac-12 Championship and Arizona School Record.
 
Geist set his PR in the shot put at the Triton Invitational with a mark of 21.59m (70-10) to set the Arizona school record, No. 1 mark in the NCAA and currently ranks No. 7 in the World. He became the first male Wildcat to win back-to-back Pac-12 shot put titles in May with a toss of 21.08m (69-2). His winning throw was the furthest at a Pac-12 Championships since 2011. He wrapped up the Pac-12 Championships with 22 points for the second-straight year and was named Pac-12 Men's Field Athlete of the Year.
 
He set his PR in the hammer throw with a mark of 67.40m (221-1) at the Jim Click Shootout to win the event. His hammer throw mark ranks fourth in the Arizona record book. He tossed his season-best mark of 56.98m (186-11) in the discus throw at the Pac-12 Championships to finish third.
 
Most recently, Geist punched his ticket to the NCAA Championships at the NCAA West Preliminary Round with a toss of 20.42m (67-0) in the shot put. He will compete in Austin, Texas on Wednesday, June 5th at 6:40 p.m. MST.
