TUCSON, Ariz. -- Three Arizona beach volleyball pairs were named AVCA 2019 Top Flight Winners, the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced. UA's 3-5 pairs were honored on the list.
Madison Rigdon and
Natalie Anselmo (Flight 3),
Jasmine Safar and
Sarah Blacker (Flight 4) and
Dana Parker and
Ainise Havili (Flight 5) were all recognized for their terrific 2019 seasons.
Rigdon and Anselmo were the nation's top third-flight-pair; they went a perfect 17-0 together as the Wildcat No. 3 pair, the only qualifying pair in the NCAA to post a perfect record in their respective flight.
Safar and Blacker went a combined 22-5 together as UA's No. 4 pair. Their 22 combined victories were tied for the most in the country among qualified No. 4 pairs while their .815 winning percentage was fourth best.
Parker and Havili went a combined 23-5 together as Arizona's No. 5 pair. Like Safar and Blacker, their 23 victories were tied for the most in the country among qualified No. 5 pairs. Their .821 winning percentage was fourth best in Flight 5.
