Holland Named to Wuerffel Trophy Watch List

TUCSON, Ariz. – University of Arizona senior cornerback Malcolm Holland has been named to the 2019 Wuerffel Trophy Watch List. The Wuerffel Trophy is considered college football's premiere award for community service.

Holland is one of 86 players nationally to make the watch list and one of 10 to make it for a second consecutive season.

Holland completed the most community service hours for an Arizona male student-athlete last school year with 58.5 hours. His community service spread to several different worthwhile local outlets including the Boys and Girls Club, Habitat for Humanity, Project Linus, the John Valenzuela Youth Center, Students for Sustainability and Kids of Steele.

The Chandler native has also done public speaking engagements, volunteered at ArtWorks—a creative center for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and cleaned up the playground at local Doolen Middle School with Serve Tucson.

All total, Holland has completed 112.25 total hours of community service in his time as an Arizona student-athlete.

Holland appeared in all 25 games over the 2016 and 2017 seasons before suffering an injury, which kept him out of action in 2018. He is one of Arizona's top special teams contributors and features on several different units. As a sophomore in 2016, he totaled three solo tackles against Arizona State in the season finale.

Holland and the Wildcats will open their season Aug. 24 at Hawaii. Arizona will play six home games at Arizona Stadium this season. Ticket information can be found at ArizonaWildcats.com/FB.
