SKOKIE, Ill. -- The Arizona women's golf team completed a long day of golf late Monday night, settling into seventh place with one round to go at the Windy City Collegiate. The Wildcats shot 5-over as a team in the first round and one-over in the second at Glen View Golf Course.
Junior Yu-Sang Hou made his first start of the year for the Wildcats, and delivered with rounds of 70 (-2) and 70 (E). The ANNIKA Award Watchlist nominee has six birdies and four bogeys through two rounds. Her 2-under total is good enough for a tie for ninth at the moment.
Sophomore Ya Chun Chang mixed four bogeys with three birdies in her first round, and responded with a solid 71 (-1) in the afternoon. Chang is in a tie for 15th at even par. Senior Sandra Nordaas shot an opening-round 75 (+3) and then improved upon that score by three in her second round.
Freshman Vivian Hou also performed better in her second round, shooting a 2-over 74 which was three shots lower than her opening 77. Freshman Therese Warner made her Wildcat debut on Monday, putting together rounds of 75 and 77.
The Cats are 6-over as a team and find themselves 16 shots back of Florida for first place. Arizona leads the field in total pars with 129.
The Wildcats tee off at 5:30 a.m. MST tomorrow.
