TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Gymnastics
Zaza Brovedani earned the honor of Pac-12 Freshman of the Week, voted on by the conference, after standout performances on the uneven bars and the balance beam on Saturday against Western Michigan, Iowa State, and Rutgers.
"Zaza performed very well and made a difference in the meet for us as a team," head coach
John Court said. "She is an all-around great person and we are excited about this honor for her."
The freshman earned two career-high scores during Saturday's win and two top-five finishes. Brovedani tied for first place on bars with a career-high 9.875 alongside teammate
Christina Berg and made her beam debut with a score of 9.825. She tied for fourth place on beam with fellow GymCat
Kennedi Davis, helping the GymCats earn a season-high score on the event of 49.125.
Arizona will travel to Sacramento State for a tri-meet with Oregon State next Saturday, January 17 at 7 p.m. MST.
