TUCSON, Ariz. --Â Yu-Sang and
Vivian Hou have accepted invites to compete in the second edition of the Augusta National Women's Amateur. The sisters competed in the inaugural tournament last year, both missing the cut by a stroke.
Â
Vivian was a shining star in her first semester as Wildcat, finishing the fall season in the top ten of the ANNIKA Award Watch List. Her phenomenal performance earned her a repeat appearance at Augusta. Vivian is now ranked No. 3 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, largely due to her second-place finish at the Hitachi Ladies Classic earlier this month.
Â
Yu-Sang played solid golf in her fall season, finishing in the top 20 in all three collegiate tournaments she competed in. She also impressed at the Taiwan Swinging Skirts LPGA, finishing 52nd in the professional tournament.
Â
"It's definitely a privilege and honor to be able to participate in ANWA with my sister again this year," said Yu-Sang. "We are for sure looking forward to it."
Â
Head coach
Laura Ianello is also looking forward to watching her star players compete in the ANWA once again.
Â
"Vivian and Yu-Sang continue to be a dynamic duo ready to represent Taiwan and take the ANWA field by storm," said Ianello. These sisters are consistent, hardworking and driven to be the best. I have no doubt we will be watching both of them on TV very soon. I feel blessed to coach such talented women, and they represent the Arizona golf team in the best light."
Â
The 2020 Augusta National Women's Amateur begins on April 1st. NBC Sports will broadcast three hours of final-round coverage.
