TUCSON, Ariz. – Throughout this difficult year, Arizona Athletics has remained committed to providing a world-class experience for our student-athletes. However, even with the return of football this November, the Wildcats and college athletics are still working through severe financial adversity.
These financial realities caused by the COVID-19 pandemic have hit home in Tucson and throughout the Pac-12 Conference, college athletics, and numerous other industries.
Facing this challenge, Arizona Athletics is asking football season ticket holders to consider donating all or part of their 2020 season ticket payment to the
Wildcat Scholarship Fund to aid the department in bridging the current financial gap.
These generous donations are 100% tax deductible and will help Arizona Athletics continue providing a first-class experience to our hundreds of talented, resilient student-athletes.
To contribute to this cause, simply click
HERE and follow the directions.
In addition to being 100% tax-deductible, these contributions will earn season ticket holders two priority points for every $100 donated.
All season ticket holders were emailed instructions on how to proceed on Sunday, Oct. 11. Those with questions may contact their sales representative, Wildcat Club Development Officer, or the McKale Ticket Office (520-621-CATS or
catsinfo@arizona.edu).
Season ticket holders not interested in donating can instead apply their credit to future ticket purchase, including 2021 football season tickets, or request a refund.
This donation campaign is only part of the solutions that Arizona Athletics have begun to execute to help aid the department in recovering from what is anticipated to be a $45 million revenue shortfall in the 2020-21 fiscal year. Additionally, Arizona Athletics has mitigated our financial losses through hiring freezes, budget reductions, and significant staff salary reductions.
Another exciting charitable giving plan will soon be announced and is expected to include these ticket conversions and a Homecoming Giving Day. Stay tuned, as details will be shared when finalized.
To all our Wildcat fans and the Southern Arizona community, we thank you. Together We Bear Down.
