FUTURE ATTENDANCE
I want to use this Wildcat Wednesday email to review our athletics department's important decision from Sunday. Arizona Athletics has paused the admittance of family members of student-athletes and staff at home events indefinitely. We made this tough decision out of an abundance of caution after consulting with the Pima County Health Department. While this is disappointing for families to lose the opportunity to cheer on their Wildcats in person, Arizona Athletics and the University of Arizona are committed to keeping the health and safety of everyone as our guiding principles. I want to encourage all the Wildcat Family in Southern Arizona and abroad to continue doing their part to combat the spread of COVID-19 and always Bear Down and Mask Up!
THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU DO
On behalf of all of Arizona Athletics, I want to thank the Wildcat Family again for their support and well wishes during this holiday season. Your tremendous compassion was on display once again during our participation in UArizona's first-ever Day of Giving, which saw Arizona Athletics raise nearly $600,000 in 24 hours for the Wildcat Scholarship Fund. Your overwhelming generosity continues to inspire all of us as you help power our mission to provide opportunities for our student-athletes to become athletic, academic and life champions. Thank you to the many loyal supporters who donated and thank you to the entire Wildcat Family for standing by us during these unprecedented times.
ARIZONA FOOTBALL RETURNS HOME
Coach Sumlin and the Wildcats return to Arizona Stadium on Saturday for our first home football game in three weeks. Arizona Football welcomes Colorado for a 5 p.m. (MST) kickoff with FoxSports 1 broadcasting the game. The Wildcats have won the last three meetings versus the Buffaloes, including last year's thriller in Boulder, Colorado.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL'S TOP-10 SHOWDOWN
Point guard Aari McDonald continues to collect the national accolades as she earned a spot on the prestigious Wooden Award Watch List, which recognizes the top players in the country regardless of position. In her team's first game of the season, Aari nearly had a quadruple double with 18 points, seven rebounds, eight assists and six steals.
After defeating Northern Arizona in their season opener on Sunday, Coach Barnes and the No. 7 ranked Wildcats will tip off against No. 9 UCLA in their conference opener on Friday at 7 p.m. (MST). You can watch the game on Pac-12 Networks and tune in on 1400 AM in Tucson to catch Derrick Palmer on the call for the Cats. Friday's game marks the first time Arizona Women's Basketball has faced a top-ten opponent, while also being ranked in the top ten, since the 1997-98 season. Bear Down and Go Cats!
MEN'S HOOPS SCHEDULE UPDATES
Our official announcement of the cancellation of Arizona Men's Basketball's Pac-12 opener, due to a positive COVID-19 test within Colorado's program, was disappointing news. Our student-athletes and staff have worked tirelessly in preparation to take the court this season and continue to show tremendous determination and resiliency in the wake of cancelled games.
We have some schedule updates to share with you all, which includes the confirmation of a 12 p.m. (MST) start to Saturday's game versus Eastern Washington on the Pac-12 Networks. The cancelled season opener versus NAU has also been rescheduled for Monday, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. (MST) and a December 12 match-up with New Mexico State has also been added. STRONGER TOGETHER
As our football, men's basketball and women's basketball have officially began their seasons, it has been a privilege to watch our Wildcats support the student-athlete driven "Stronger Together" campaign on social injustice. Whether it's warm-up shirts or helmet decals, I have been proud to see our student-athletes reinforcing their own message of solidarity, empowerment and respect. Our athletics department will continue to amplify the voices of our student-athletes as we remain focused on enhancing diversity and inclusion because we believe that we are #StrongerTogether!
WILDCATS HIT THE POOL
Arizona Swimming and Diving will officially open their 2020-21 season by hosting Grand Canyon on Thursday and Friday at the world-class Hillenbrand Aquatic Center. Both the men's and women's teams are coming off standout seasons in the spring, and there is a lot of excitement surrounding the program heading into the season. You can click here to read our meet preview as you get ready to Bear Down with the Wildcats.
The program's divers will participate in the NAU Invitational in Flagstaff, Arizona to open their season. With a group of All-American returners, Arizona is sure to Bear Down at Northern Arizona this weekend. Fans should use ArizonaWildcats.com and @ArizonaSwimDive on social media platforms to follow the action in the pool.
