TUCSON, Ariz. – The GymCats earned a final score of 195.975, while Utah scored 197.300 on Saturday in McKale Center. Arizona posted a season-best 49.100 on the uneven bars and three GymCats earned season-high scores.
Coach's Corner
Vault
The GymCats opened the competition on vault, scoring a 49.025. Leydin tied for second place on the event with a 9.850 and
Heather Swanson earned a season-high of 9.825.
Uneven Bars
The GymCats competed on the uneven bars for the second rotation and posted a season-best 49.100, with two gymnasts earning season-high scores.
Christina Berg took home first place on the event after earning a season-high of 9.95.
Heather Swanson tied her season-high of 9.80.
Balance Beam
Arizona earned a 48.900 on the balance beam.
Haylie Hendrickson,
Malia Hargrove, and
Kennedi Davis posted 9.80 for their beam routines, with Hendrickson earning a season-high.
Floor
On floor, the Cats earned a 48.950, with one GymCat tying her season-high.
Christina Berg tied her season-high on floor with a 9.825, tying
Malia Hargrove for fourth place on the event.
Athlete of the Meet – Christina Berg
Christina Berg earned the title of Athlete of the Meet for Arizona with a 9.95 on bars and a 9.825 on floor.

The GymCats will travel for back-to-back road meets at UCLA on Sunday, February 9 at 3 p.m. MST and Washington on Saturday, February 15.
