Tucson, Ariz. - For the first time this season, a Wildcat is bringing home the Pac-12 Player of the Week in Men's Tennis. No. 76 Filip Malbasic put together a phenomenal Sunday afternoon against the Gauchos of Santa Barbara. With the help of Igor Karpovets, Malbasic hammered Krustev and Rotheram. Malbasic then took to Court One and put on a stellar performance against the No. 8 player in the country, Joseph Guillin, beating him in straight sets, 7-5 in both.
This is the first time since February 2009 that a Wildcat has earned the honor of Pac-12 Player of the Week in Men's Tennis, and only the fifth time ever that a Saguaro Soldier has received the award.

Head Coach Clancy Shields said this about Malbasic's achievements, "Excited to see Filip's work getting recognized. This honor is a culmination of many hours of hard work and dedication. He is one of the top players in the nation, a position he has earned, and I'm proud for him and our team to receive this honor."
