Cats Close Out Day One in Lubbock and Seattle

LUBBOCK, Texas. – Arizona Track and Field competed in day one of both the Texas Tech Shootout and Washington Husky Invitational on Friday.
Highlights - Texas Tech Shootout
Israel Oloyede won the weight throw competition with a PR mark of 21.62m (70-11.25). The throw places Oloyede at 11th in the NCAA.
Justice Summerset cleared a PR of 2.23m (7-3.75) to win the high jump competition, which is the seventh best mark in the country. Justin Lewis marked 2.08m (6-9.75) to also get a top 10 finish.
Pjai Austin won the long jump with a PR mark of 7.71m (25-3.5). Dominic Gehr also marked a PR in the long jump.
Tiana Poirier-Shelton (5.97m 19-7), Judith Baxter-Game (5.79m 19-0) and Skylar Sieben (5.71m 18-8.75) all jumped PR marks in the long jump.
Pjai Austin and Tayvian Cunningham both finished in the top 10 in the 200m. Austin placed sixth with a time of 21.14 and Cunningham clocked 21.16 to take seventh.
Aoife Martin threw 18.29m (60-0.25) in the weight throw.
Sarahvaughn King clocked 24.22 to finish in the top 10 of the 200m.
Alexa Porpaczy (1.76m 5-9.25) placed second and Karla Teran (1.71m 5-7.25) took fourth in the high jump.

Keelah Barger ran a PR of 16:54.83 in the 5k.
Victor Ortiz-Rivera ran 8:16.24 in the 3k.
Jennie Baragar-Petrash clocked a PR of 9:18.51 in the 3k.
