Tucson, Ariz.– Head women's tennis coach Ryan Stotland signed Santa Strombacha to join the team in the fall of 2020. Strombacha was a four-time winner of the Berlin Championships in singles, reached a ranking of 134 in Germany and is a four-time doubles winner at the German Championships, along with many other impressive accomplishments.
"Santa will be a great addition to our Wildcat Family," Stotland said. "She has a great reputation as an extremely hard worker in Germany and her results show. We are excited for her to help our program take another step forward as we know she has the ability to make us that much better."
Strombacha is from Berlin, Germany and comes from a family of athletes. Her mother was a volleyball player and her father played tennis on the Latvian Davis Cup Team. Her two older siblings started playing tennis before her inspired her to pick up the game.
"Arizona was the place I was looking for," Strombacha said. "It is a place where I can spend many hours on the court as well as in the classroom. It just gave me the 'wow' affect when I visited."
