Student-Athletes of the Month Named for January

TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Women's Golf's Yu-Sang Hou, Women's Track & Field's Lauren Neugeboren and Football's Malik Hausman and Christian Roland-Wallace have been honored as the student-athletes of the month for January.
These students have been recognized for their commitment to earning their undergraduate degree, the ability to maximize their academic potential, and their dedication to academic improvement and growth.
These students have been chosen by the C.A.T.S Academic staff.
Hou is a junior from Taipei, Taiwan, and is majoring in Psychology. She made first-team all-Pac-12 her sophomore year.
"Yu-Sang is always so positive and fun to work with!" said learning specialist Aaron Davis. "Despite a challenging travel and competition schedule, she has been able to do better and better each semester. I can't wait to see where her talent and dedication takes her in the future!"
Neugeboren is a redshirt freshman freshman from Boulder, Colorado. Neugeboren is majoring in Psychology and finished in the top 20 at the Aztec Invitational.
"Lauren is a great student that has maintained a 4.0 GPA since she has been at the U of A," said learning specialist Corey Talley. "She has had some challenges and obstacles to overcome but she has risen to the occasion and is accomplishing big things on the track and in the classroom. I'm looking forward to seeing her continued success."
Hausman is a redshirt junior from Las Vegas, Nevada. He is majoring in General Studies with an emphasis in Social Behavior and Human Understanding and has excelled both on and off the field.
"Malik is just great to be around," said learning specialist Aaron Davis. "He's a hard worker and had his strongest and most consistent semester in the classroom. I know he brings a lot to his team and that he'll bring a lot to any team he's a part of in the future!"
Roland-Wallace is a sophomore from Palmdale, California and is an undecided major. He played in all 12 games in the 2019 season.
"Chris Roland-Wallace graduated high school early so that he can start his career at the U of A,' said counselor Sarah Barber. "He came ready to get to work and always asked questions when he didn't understand something. In his first year, he was able to maintain a GPA above a 3.5. He has impressed me with his hard work and determination in the classroom and I know that he will continue to find success!"
