BERKELEY, Calif. – Arizona Gymnastics earned a season-best final score of 196.275, while California scored 196.400 on Sunday afternoon in Berkeley. The GymCats earned season-high scores of 49.200 on vault and 49.175 on beam. Six GymCats earned season-high scores and five earned career-best scores.
 
Coach's Corner
"Setting a season-high team score on the road is a great accomplishment, along with scoring new season-highs on vault and beam." assistant coach Taylor Spears said. "So many fabulous performances tonight. Maddi absolutely nailed her vault and the team went crazy. Then we went to floor and it was great to see Laura Leigh step in. They continue to have each other's backs and it's amazing to see!"
 
Uneven Bars
Arizona opened the competition on the uneven bars, posting a 48.775. Christina Berg earned a 9.875 and third place on the event. Haylie Hendrickson earned a 9.825 to take home fourth place.
 
Vault
On vault, the GymCats earned a season-high 49.200. Maddi Leydin posted a career-best score of 9.975 and took home first place on vault. Malia Hargrove tied her career-high of 9.825 to help Arizona earn its season-high score.
 
Floor
The GymCats earned a 49.125 on floor in the third rotation. Malia Hargrove earned a career-high 9.90 to tie for first place on the event. Christina Berg tied her season-high on floor with a 9.825 and Laura Leigh Horton made her career debut on floor, earning a 9.80.
 
Balance Beam
Arizona closed the meet on the balance beam, earning a season-high 49.175. Kennedi Davis tied her career-high of 9.875 and Jenny Leung posted her career-high of 9.875 to tie for first place. Sirena Linton earned a 9.85 in a tie for third place, and Maddi Leydin tied her career-high of 9.825.

Arizona will return home to host Arizona State on Friday, March 6 at 7 p.m. MST and a tri-meet with Ohio State and Bridgeport on Sunday, March 8 at 2 p.m. MST.
