TUCSON, Ariz. - Arizona freshman forward
Zeke Nnaji announced on Twitter that he was declaring for the NBA Draft on Tuesday after being named Pac-12 Freshman of the Year, Pac-12 First Team all-conference and earning a spot on the Pac-12 All-Freshman team.
Â
In addition to the conference honors, Nnaji garnered all-district accolades from the USBWA and the NABCÂ and the Associated Press awarded him the conference's Newcomer of the Year honor and first team all-conference attention. Nnaji, a native of Hopkins, Minnesota, led the Pac-12 in double-doubles (14) and also paced the conference in rebounding in conference play while scoring at a 16.1 points per game clip.Â
Because he was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Year, Nnaji is now eligible to have his name entered into the Ring of Honor in the McKale Center.
