TUCSON, Ariz. --Â The Arizona women's golf team will host the Arizona Wildcat Invitational this upcoming Monday and Tuesday at Sewailo Golf Club. The tournament will consist of two rounds on Monday and a final round on Tuesday.
Â
The Cats are coming off a second-place finish at the Hurricane Invitational, and freshman
Vivian Hou is coming off another top-5 finish. Vivian tied for third place at 1-over par, making that her fifth top-5 finish in only six events. Teammates
Yu-Sang Hou and
Therese Warner each added top-15 finishes to their 2020 tally.
Â
Sewailo Golf Club played difficult last year, with the Cats ending in third place at 30-over. Arizona State was the 2019 champion with a score of 22-over.
Â
"After this past week, a disappointing second-place finish, I think the ladies are very motivated to have a great week," said head coach
Laura Ianello. "It's a home tournament, so we have home course advantage. We've had a couple days of really solid practice, we have a couple more days on the course before all the teams come into Tucson. We're continuing to be led by the Hou sisters, along with
Ya Chun Chang and
Therese Warner. They all had good showings in Miami. Everyone is looking to continue their success and come away with a victory next week."
Â
Play begins Monday at 7:30 a.m. MST and the second round will begin shortly after the conclusion of the first.
