TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of Arizona men's cross country and track & field programs earned NCAA Public Recognition Awards for exemplary Academic Progress Rates (APR) for the second year in a row, as released by the NCAA today.
Men's cross country has now earned NCAA APR public recognition each of the last four years and has been recognized five times since 2008.
Arizona is the only school in the Pac-12 to have their men's cross country program earn APR public recognition four-straight years. The Wildcats also join Stanford as the only schools in the Pac-12 to earn recognition each of the last two years in men's track and field.
The APR provides a real-time look at a team's academic success each semester or quarter by tracking the academic progress of each student-athlete. The APR includes eligibility, retention and graduation in the calculation and provides a clear picture of the academic culture in each sport.
