TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Athletics is proud to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month each year, as it gives us an opportunity to share the incredible stories of some of our amazing student-athletes both past and present and honor the rich Hispanic culture in our Southern Arizona community. And this year will be no different, as we have plans to highlight these stories over the course of the month and introduce a new Hispanic Heritage logo.
Starting today and running through Oct. 15, we will highlight the inspiring stories of current student-athletes as they discuss their background and why Hispanic Heritage Month is important to them.
We will also take a look back at some traditions and activities that we have created at our annual Hispanic Heritage Day football game in Arizona Stadium, including special halftime performances, the mural in Arizona Stadium and recognition of our Hispanic Alumni scholarship recipients.
Arizona Athletics will also take to social media throughout the month to highlight our stories as we continue to emphasize our core values on diversity and inclusion from the strategic plan. The A-Club will also focus on letterwinners of Hispanic decent as they reflect on their time at the University of Arizona and the importance of this month. More information can be found on
