Cats Tee Off at East Lake Cup on Monday

ATLANTA – The 2021 edition of the East Lake Cup will see Arizona Women's Golf participate in the prestigious event for a third time in four years, beginning on Monday. Oct. 25. The Golf Channel will carry the nationally-televised event that includes stroke play and match play. The East Lake Cup invites the top finishers from the previous year's NCAA postseason as Arizona is the only program in the nation to reach the semifinals in each of the last three NCAA Championships.

"It's always a privilege for our program to play in a top event and represent the University of Arizona in a nationally-televised tournament," said head coach Laura Ianello. "It's an outstanding course and great competition that will be a great environment for our young ladies. East Lake Cup is a very special event, and I am looking forward to having our program experience it."

The Wildcats will be without the experienced duo of Yu-Sang and Vivian Hou who participated in the second stage of LPGA qualifying over the weekend.

East Lake Cup is Arizona's third tournament of the fall, following a sixth-place finish at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate and a fourth-place finish at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational. Freshman Lilas Pinthier of France has posted top-20 finishes in both events.

The tournament will begin with stroke play on Monday before two days of match play with the Golf Channel airing action from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. (MST) each day.
