White Team Wins 2021 Red, White and Blue Meet

TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Track and Field competed in their annual intrasquad Red, White and Blue meet on Saturday with the white team walking away with a victory after a three-year stint by the red team. White finished with a team score of 186 followed by blue in second with 165 points and red in third, scoring 105 points.

Highlights
Jordan Geist won the hammer throw and shot put contests for the blue team with marks of 69.44m and 19.89m, respectively. 

Freshmen Reinaldo Rodrigues and Jenica Bosko won the long jump with Rodrigues posting a mark of 6.99m for the white team and Bosko jumping 5.76m for the red team.

Neysia Howard (red) and Trayvion White-Austin (blue) led the way in the 60m dash, clocking 7.63 and 6.87, respectively.

Calvin Wilson (red) ran a time of 1:18.80 and Shannon Meisberger (blue) clocked 1:30.06 to pick up individual wins in the 600m.

Tanner Kippes (white) cleared 4.90m and Katie Daily (blue) got over the bar at 3.80m to take the pole vault.

The high jump came down to a close jump-off with Diana Ramos, Alexa Porpaczy and Talie Bonds all clearing a height of 1.75m, but Ramos ultimately came away with the win for the blue team.

Shem Kemboi clocked a time of 8:50.86 and Grace Driskill ran 10:16.42 to lead the 3000m race.

Ivan Zaharchenko (white) and Shannon Meisberger (blue) both picked up another 10 points for their teams, clocking 33.77 and 39.01 in the 300m.

Ayden Schilb (blue) ran a time of 2:30.27 and Alisa Lyesina (white) clocked 2:52.57 in the 1000m race to tally up 10 points each for their teams.

Jared O'Riley and Kaelyn Shipley led the white team to a complete sweep of the men's and women's javelin throw, giving the team a push to victory.

Samantha Noennig and Jakob Chamberlin swept the discus throw for the blue team. Noennig also got the win in the women's shot put.
