TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of Arizona Athletics Department posted its second-highest score ever in Graduate Success Rate data with a mark of 86 percent in the NCAA's data released Thursday. GSR measures the percentage of student-athletes that graduate within six years of enrollment with the 2021 data including the classes of 2011 through 2014. Arizona has improved its GSR scores by 20 percent over the last decade with marks of 86 or 87 percent since 2018.
Â
"Our Athletic Program's continual rise in GSR data helps propel our overall record-breaking academic success," said Vice President and Director of Athletics
Dave Heeke. "We continue to post top scores in department history for this key metric of our student-athlete graduation while achieving unparalleled accomplishments in the classroom with a current all-time cumulative GPA of 3.226. Arizona Athletics continues to fulfill its mission of developing Wildcat student-athletes into academic, athletic and life champions with excellence."
Â
Arizona's sustained academic excellence was epitomized in the spring when the athletics department posted its highest ever overall semester GPA with a 3.172. That achievement marked the seventh consecutive semester of Arizona Athletics posting a department GPA of 3.0 or higher as the Fall 2020 overall semester record posted a 3.095 GPA.
