TUCSON, Ariz. — Arizona Gymnastics posted a 194.350 to finish first in a tri meet at Air Force on Sunday afternoon. Air Force finished in second place with a final score of 193.350, while Texas Woman's University placed third with a 191.975.
Two GymCats won their events, with
Malia Hargrove pacing the field on vault with a 9.800 and
Elena Deets clocking a 9.875 on bars to lead the event.
Balance Beam
Arizona opened the competition on beam, where they posted a 48.325. Four GymCats posted scores at or above a 9.8, led by
Sirena Linton's 9.850.
Floor Exercise
Next up was floor, where the GymCats posted a 48.600. Hargrove (9.8) and
Elena Deets (9.825) both posted impressive scores.
Mackenzie Barile logged her first career routine on floor, posting a 9.675.
Vault
The GymCats next moved to vault, where they earned a 48.275 and Hargrove won the event with a 9.8.
Uneven Bars
Arizona finished the afternoon on bars, posting their best performance of the meet with a 49.150. It was the GymCats first 49+ on the event this season. Deets led the team and won the event with a 9.875. She was joined by
Zaza Brovedani, Hargrove,
MacKinzie Kane, and
Bailey McCabe at or above a 9.8.
