Tucson, Ariz. - The University of Arizona Department of Athletics is excited to announce that 344 student-athletes earned the honor of being named Academic Champions for the 2019-20 academic year. To receive the honor, student-athletes had to maintain a 3.0 or higher grade-point average throughout the year.
 
Traditionally, these students are recognized on the field during a home football game or on the court in the McKale Center during a basketball game. But with the COVID-19 restrictions and protocols in place this season, that in-person recognition was not possible.
 
The student-athlete experience is part of the University's mission and celebrating academic achievements is important for all Wildcats. We look forward to recognizing more of the University of Arizona's educational excellence at home events in the future.
