TUCSON, Ariz. – The Wildcats beat Texas Southern 3-0 on Saturday, completing the sweep of the Wildcat Classic. Arizona held the Tigers to a .030 hitting percentage, while the Cats dominated with a .341 hitting percentage.
 
Set 1 | Arizona - 25, Texas Southern - 12
Puk Stubbe led the offense in the first set with three kills, and Nicole Briggs, Dilara Gedikoglu, and Sofia Maldonado Diaz each had two kills. Gedikoglu served two aces and Maldonado Diaz had two block assists to help the Cats win 25-12 in the first set.
 
Set 2 | Arizona - 25, Texas Southern - 18
Arizona took the second set, 25-18 against Texas Southern. Maldonado Diaz, Stubbe, and Merle Weidt all had three kills. Emery Herman and freshman Alayna Johnson had two kills and one block each. Herman and Malina Kalei Ua each served one ace to lead Arizona to the second set win.
 
Set 3 | Arizona - 25, Texas Southern - 12
The Wildcats offense shined in the final set, hitting .469 on 17 kills. Maldonado Diaz led the attack with four kills and Zyonna Fellows, Gedikoglu, and Stubbe put down three kills each. Herman directed the offense with 13 assists. She also had one kill and one ace in the third set.
