LUBBOCK, Texas. – Arizona Track and Field wrapped up their first indoor meet of the 2021 season with impressive marks, with five Wildcats putting up top marks in the NCAA.
The men swept the podium in the shot put with
Jordan Geist,
Youssef Koudssi, and
Zach Landa. Geist finished in first place with a throw of 20.59m, placing him second in the NCAA. Koudssi threw a PR of 17.08m in his first event of the season to take second place.
Samantha Noennig dominated women's shot put to earn first place with a 16.74m mark, which is currently the fourth highest mark in the NCAA.
Shannon Meisberger competed in the 400m and locked up her second first place finish of the Corky Classic with a time of 53.98, which is the fifth fastest time in the NCAA to go along with her NCAA-best 600yd time from Friday.
Anna Foreman followed close behind with her second PR of the meet, running a 54.91 which is the 11th fastest in the NCAA.
Alisa Lyesina took home first place and the seventh fastest time in the NCAA in the 800m run with a 2:09.78. Hurdler
Talie Bonds ran well and finished the 60m hurdles with an 8.46 and a top three finish. Bonds' mark is fast enough to place her in the top 25 in the NCAA for the 60m hurdle.

Fred Harvey said this about his team's performance, "This weekend was a great success for 80-85% of the team. Our newcomers like Trayvon White-Austin,
Jenica Bosko,
Ivan Zaharchenko, and Carl Hick all showed they belong. It was great to have
Shannon Meisberger and
Jordan Geist post some of the top performances in the NCAA which gave the team much confidence this weekend."
Next up, the Wildcats will travel to Flagstaff, Ariz. for the Lumberjack Team Challenge.
