TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Gymnastics opened their 2023 season with the annual GymCat Showcase on Monday night in McKale Center.
The GymCats showcased their routines on all four events to give fans a sneak peek at the upcoming season. Arizona soccer head coach Becca Moros and assistant coach Lorraine Quinn, women's golf head coach Laura Ianello, sports psychologist Mike Clark, assistant athletic director for event management Matt Brown, strength trainer Alex Curro, GymCat alum Victoria Ortiz, women's golfer Gile Bite Starkute, and U.S. Air Force lieutenant colonel retiree Tammy Barlett were the celebrity judges for the Showcase.
This event was the first time that Arizona's freshmen
Gianna Lenczner,
Indigo Morgan,
Sophia Stephens,
Jordan Schultz, and
Emma Strom were able to experience the energy in McKale Center and see the fans.
Seniors
Zaza Brovedani,
Malia Hargrove,
Sirena Linton,
Danielle Nosek, and
Libby Orman returned to the floor for their last Showcase.
The 2023 regular season will kick off at a quad meet hosted by No. 19 Ohio State with No. 11 Kentucky and Greenville on Sunday, January 8.
