White Team Repeats at the Red/White/Blue Competition

TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona track and field competed in their annual intrasquad Red/White/Blue and All-Comers Meet on Saturday.
 
The white team came away victorious, beating the red and blue teams for their second straight competition win. They finished with a team score of 185 and were followed by the red team with 170 and the blue team with 146.
 
Jordan Geist (blue) and Ava David (white) both won the first event of the day, the hammer throw, with throws of 68.20m and 55.23m. Jordan Geist also won the shot put with a throw of 20.92m. Mackenna Orie won both the shot put (15.70m) and discus (49.72m) for the red team. Youssef Koudssi (red) also won the discus.
 
Tanner Kippes cleared 15'6" and Katie Daily cleared 11'6" in the pole vault to win for the white team.
 
The white team also won the 60m hurdles, with Logan Hasher (8.65) and Talie Bonds (8.22) both finishing first. Logan Hasher also won the 250m hurdles, with a time of 30.90, along with Xahria Santiago, with a time of 33.10 for the blue team.
 
Trayvion White-Austin (blue) and Neysia Howard (red) both won the 60m dash (6.67 and 7.60) and the 150m dash (15.38 and 17.80). Isaac Davis (white) and Athena Montgomery (red) won the 600m. Additionally, Carl Hicks (blue) and Camila Aguilar-Perez (blue) finished first in the 300m.
 
Reinaldo Rodrigues (white) won the long jump with a jump of 7.40m. For the blue team, Taylen Wise won both the long jump (5.67m) and the triple jump (12.68). Sir Jonathan Sims also won the triple jump for the blue team.
 
The white team swept the number one spot in the high jump, with Emma Gates jumping 1.80m and Kristjan Sigfinnsson jumping 2.05m.
 
Jared O'Riley (59.86m) and Erin Tack (44.54m) both won the javelin for the white team as well.
 
Iker Sanchez Lopez and Alisa Lyesina both won the 1000m run for the white team with times of 2:27.06 and 2:52.70. Additionally, Ian Sanchez Lopez (red) and Brigid Hanley (red) won the 3000m.
 
NEXT UP
The first official meet of the season will take place on January 20, 2022, in Flagstaff, Ariz., where the Wildcats will compete in the Lumberjack Team Challenge.
