TUCSON, Ariz. – Malia Hargrove and
Caroline Herry have been named to the first-ever Pac-12 Preseason Watch List, announced by the conference on Monday.
Hargrove, a senior from Sparks, Nev., has competed in every meet during her career at Arizona. In 2022, she earned career high marks on every event, including a career best 39.500 in the all-around at the NCAA Norman Regional. Hargrove helped the GymCats beat then-No. 4 Utah for the first time in program history by posting a career high of 9.925 on beam. To close out the season, Hargrove earned a career high 9.90 on bars in three straight meets.
Herry, a junior from Argyle, Texas, was a constant in Arizona's vault and floor lineups during the 2022 season. She hit every routine last season and posted career high marks of 9.825 on vault, 9.90 on beam, and 9.95 on floor. She helped Arizona earn its first win over Utah in program history last season with her performances on vault, beam, and floor.
The duo will kick off the 2023 season with the GymCats on Sunday, Jan. 8 at No. 19 Ohio State with No. 11 Kentucky and Greenville. Arizona's home opener is Saturday, Jan. 14 with No. 23 Illinois, Texas Women's, and Bowling Green in McKale Center.
