Wildcats Wrap Up ASU Invitational

TEMPE, Ariz. – Arizona Track and Field had several stand-out performances on the final day of the ASU Invitational. The Cats secured multiple event wins and numerous PRs to round out their stay in Tempe.
 
Day Two Highlights
Talie Bonds continued her winning ways for the Wildcats by winning the 100m hurdles with a PR time of 13.18 fourth-fastest time in Arizona history. She has not placed lower than first in any event final this outdoor season.

Neysia Howard followed up her fellow Wildcats performance with the fifth fastest 100m dash in outdoor program history with a third-place time of 11.55, a new PR in the event. Shannon Meisberger ran in the 400m hurdles for the second-straight weekend with a time of 56.51.

For the rest of the sprint crew, the men's 4x100m relay featuring Trayvion White-Austin, Carl Hicks, Trent Stimac, and Ivan Zaharchenko, placed third with a season-best time of 40.12. White-Austin would earn another podium placement on his own in the 100m dash, running a 10.39 and placing second.

Ayden Schilb and Timothy Kibet finished the men's 800m run with an identical PR of 1:51.90 to both place in the top-five of the event. Three Cats added PRs in the women's 1500m run with Grace Driskill (4:28.05), Maddy Christopher (4:30.14), and Johnnie Mitchell (4:33.38) all placing in the top six of the event. The twins Ian and Iker Sanchez Lopez each brought in their own PR in the 1500m run with Iker placing second with a time of 3:44.67 and Ian placing fourth with a time of 3:45.02.

In the field events, Mackenna Orie put up an impressive PR in the women's shot put to grab first place with a throw of 16.20m (53'-6.25"). That mark is good for the eighth farthest throw in outdoor program history.

Reinaldo Rodrigues launched into second in the men's long jump with a jump of 7.19m (23'-7.25"). Tanner Kippes vaulted himself over a new PR height in the men's pole vault with a fourth-place jump of 5.05m (16'-6.75").

The men's 4x400m relay team closed out the meet with a season-best 3:09.04 with runners Carl Hicks, Trayvion White-Austin, Ivan Zaharchenko, and Calvin Wilson to place second in the event.
 
Day One Highlights

Talie Bonds started the Wildcats off well with a win in both of her events. In the high jump, Bonds cleared an outdoor season-best of 1.79m before taking to the track and then finishing first in the qualifiers for the 100m hurdles with a time of 13.31.

Jenica Bosko earned a PR in her first event of the weekend with a blazing time of 23.37 in the 200m dash to finish fourth.

Samantha Noennig found the podium for the second straight week in the discus throw with a throw of 53.94m (176'-11"). Mackenna Orie rounded out the top-five with a personal-best throw of 51.58m (169'-2"). Jakob Chamberlin threw a season-best as well in the hammer throw with a fifth-place finish after a toss of 53.43m (175'-3").

Grace Driskill ended the meet by obtaining a spot on the podium after running a 10:28.52 in the 3000m steeplechase for her second top-three finish of the outdoor season.

The Wildcats will return to Roy P. Drachman Stadium in two weeks for the Jim Click Shootout and Multis from Thursday, Apr. 7 to Saturday, Apr. 9
