FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arizona Track and Field had 22 athletes and three relay teams make the cut for the first round of the NCAA Outdoor Championships at the University of Arkansas. The first round will begin on Wednesday, May 25.

For the women, five Wildcats qualified for multiple events. Pac-12 Champion
Talie Bonds qualified in the 100m hurdles and the high jump while
Mackenna Orie and
Samantha Noennig both qualified in the shot put and the discus.
Neysia Howard earned a spot in the 100m dash and the 200m dash with
Jenica Bosko jumping in the long jump before joining Howard in the 200m dash.
Ava David rounds out the throwers for the women as she qualified for the hammer throw in the first round. For the distance crew, school record holder
Grace Driskill will compete in the 3000m steeplechase with
Alisa Lyesina qualifying for the 800m run. Two more high jumpers,
Lillian Lowe and
Alexa Porpaczy, qualified for the event with Bonds.
Another Pac-12 champion qualified for the first round of the NCAAs with
Shannon Meisberger earning her spot in the 400m hurdles. Fellow sprinter
Anna Foreman punched her ticket to the first round in the 400m dash. In addition, both relay squads made the cut for the first round with Howard, Foreman, Bosko, and
Dior Asemota running the 4x100m relay and Bosko, Foreman, Asemota, and Meisberger running the 4x400m.
Skylar Sieben and
Presley Money will act as alternates for the 4x100m relay while
Neysia Howard will be back-up for the 4x400m.
Looking at the qualifiers for men's track and field,
Jakob Chamberlin and
Trayvion White-Austin were the two Cats to qualify in two events. Chamberlin will be throwing in the hammer throw and the discus while White-Austin will be running the 100m and 200m dash.
Three other throwers will be competing in the first round, including
Youssef Koudssi and
Zach Landa both competing in the shot put while
Jared O'Riley will be battling in the javelin throw.
Reinaldo Rodrigues and
Tanner Kippes will round out the field event qualifiers, competing in the long jump and the pole vault respectively.
The twins,
Ian Sanchez Lopez and
Iker Sanchez Lopez, qualified for the first round in their first season as Wildcats as they are both set to run in the 1500m. The final individual entry for Arizona is
Calvin Wilson, who qualified for the 400m hurdles. He will also be competing in the men's 4x400m relay with fellow sprinters
Carl Hicks, Maj Williams, and
Ivan Zaharchenko.
Trayvion White-Austin will be the alternate for the men's relay team in the first round.
