Delaney Schnell Picks Up Academic All-America Honors

TUCSON, Ariz. — Arizona Wildcats standout diver and Olympic silver medalist, Delaney Schnell, added to her ever-growing list of accomplishments on Wednesday morning as she was tabbed a First Team Academic All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Wednesday's announcement marks the first such honors of Schnell's career and the first Academic All-America nod for the Arizona Women's Swim & Dive program since a trio of outstanding Wildcat athletes earned the recognition in 2010 (Annie Chandler, Justine Schluntz, Ana Agy).
Schnell, a regular achiever in the classroom, posted a sparkling 4.0 grade point average while pursuing a degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences. This isn't the first taste of academic recognition for Schnell, who is also a three-time CSCAA Academic All-American (2018, 2019, 2021).
In addition to her academic pursuits, the Tucson native has established herself as one of the most decorated divers in Arizona's storied history. Schnell won silver at the 2022 Tokyo Olympics in the 10-Meter Synchronized Platform event, secured back-to-back Pac-12 Championships in the Platform and 1-Meter events in 2021 and 2022, earned Pac-12 Diver of the Year honors in both 2021 and 2022, and has picked up seven All-America nods in her career thus far.
