TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Athletics' annual Hispanic Heritage Night celebration is set for Arizona Football's home game versus Oregon Saturday, Oct. 8, inside Arizona Stadium. Game time is still to be determined. This tradition of celebrating the vibrant Hispanic culture of Southern Arizona will include special activities throughout the day on the campus of the University of Arizona.

"Celebrating the cultural diversity and heritage of Southern Arizona is an important component of who we are as Arizona Wildcats," said Vice President and Director of Athletics Dave Heeke. "Hispanic Heritage Night has become one of our marquee events on campus, and it has grown as a key collaboration with our campus partners. Our athletics department is excited to welcome all the Wildcat Family to be a part of this celebration of the historical importance of Hispanic culture in Southern Arizona."

Arizona Athletics is partnering with the UA Hispanic Alumni Association, UA Alumni Association,  Hispanic Serving Institution Initiatives, Adalberto and Ana Guerrero Student Center, the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the UA Office of Government and Community Relations, among others.

The UA Hispanic Alumni Tailgate opens three hours before kickoff inside the Cole and Jeannie Davis Sports Center. It will feature special Hispanic Heritage Night pregame music and entertainment and is open to the public with a $15 El Charro buffet. Mariachi bands will welcome fans as they enter the gates of Arizona Stadium and collaborate with the Pride of Arizona Marching Band to put on an exceptional halftime performance that includes an arrangement of "We Don't Talk About Bruno," from the Disney movie "Encanto," to cap off the celebration.
