TUCSON, Ariz. – The GymCats posted a 196.100 against No. 6 California's 196.400 in McKale Center on Friday night. Arizona earned season high team scores on beam (49.275) and floor (49.200) to reach the 196 mark for the first time this season.
Four Wildcats earned career highs, led by
Elena Deets with two career high scores on bars (9.90) and beam (9.875).
Malia Hargrove placed first on vault with a 9.85 and scored a 9.90 to tie
Emily Mueller for first place on floor.
Vault
Arizona opened with a 48.650 on vault. Hargrove led the GymCats with a 9.85 and
Jessica Castles posted a 9.80. Hargrove's 9.85 tied for first place.
Uneven Bars
The GymCats earned a 48.975 on bars in rotation two. Deets tied her career high of 9.90 as the leadoff.
Sirena Linton posted a 9.80 and
Alysen Fears earned a 9.775.
Bailey McCabe and
Elizabeth LaRusso both earned 9.75s.
Balance Beam
Arizona posted a season high 49.275 on beam to bring the meet within 0.05 points after the third rotation. Castles, Deets, and Linton all earned 9.875s for the GymCats. Fears tied her career high of 9.85 and
Caroline Herry scored a 9.80.
Floor Exercise
The GymCats earned a 49.200 on floor finish with a season high team score of 196.100. Hargrove and Mueller led the way with 9.90s and Herry followed with a 9.85. Castles and
Libby Orman both posted 9.775 and LaRusso earned a 9.75.
