COLUMBUS, Ohio – The GymCats earned a 194.950 to place third in their season opener at No. 19 Ohio State. The Buckeyes won the quad meet with a 196.775. No. 11 Kentucky placed second with a 196.575 and Greenville earned a 181.425 to place fourth.
Malia Hargrove finished second in the all-around with a 39.400. Sophomores
Elizabeth LaRusso and
Emily Mueller posted career high scores in the opening meet. LaRusso earned a career best 9.80 on vault and Mueller tied her career high of 9.90 on beam.
Floor Exercise
The GymCats opened the season on floor with a 49.125.
Malia Hargrove and
Emily Mueller both posted 9.875s to lead Arizona.
Elena Deets and
Caroline Herry each earned a 9.825.
Libby Orman scored a 9.725.
Vault
Arizona earned a 48.925 on vault. Hargrove earned her second 9.875 of the meet with her vault.
Elizabeth LaRusso posted career high a 9.80 and Mueller earned a 9.775.
Jessica Castles earned a 9.75 and
Danielle Nosek posted a 9.725.
Uneven Bars
The GymCats posted a 47.725 on bars in the third rotation.
Bailey McCabe led Arizona with a 9.85, followed by Alysen with a 9.825. Hargrove earned a 9.75 for the GymCats.
Balance Beam
The GymCats closed out the meet on beam with a 49.175. Hargrove and Mueller scored a pair of 9.90s to lead Arizona. Castles posted a 9.85 and
Sirena Linton earned a 9.80 on the event. Herry scored a 9.725 for the GymCats.
