STANFORD, Calif. – A challenging day for the entire field in Saturday's second round of the Stanford Intercollegiate saw No. 21 Arizona Women's Golf slide down the leaderboard. The Wildcats were one of 15 teams to not break par, carding a 11-over par round to slip to 12^th place. Arizona was led by graduate senior Gile Bite Starkute who fired a 1-over round of 72 on Saturday.

"Today proved to be quite a challenge for us and many others," said head coach Laura Ianello. "We weren't able to rise to the occasion today, but our young ladies kept fighting until the very end. This is a group that doesn't quit, so our team will be motivated to play a complete round on Sunday to end our time at Stanford."

Arizona sank 10 birdies in its round on Saturday afternoon with six of them coming on Stanford Golf Course's par 5's, and Starkute accounted for three of those six birdies.

Nena Wongthanavimok and Sydney Bryan recorded their teams next lowest rounds, firing three-over rounds of 74. Wongthanavimok ends the second day of the event as Arizona's lowest scorer at even par, which put her in 16^th place entering Sunday.

The Cats are part of a seven-team pack in the middle of the leaderboard that is separated by 11 strokes. Arizona is one stroke behind Auburn and five strokes behind Michigan after two rounds after 36 holes.
