White-Austin’s School Record Highlights Wildcats’ Impressive Day

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Arizona Track and Field began the Don Kirby Invitational in an impressive manner on Friday. The day's performances were led by Trayvion White-Austin setting a new Arizona school record in the indoor 200m.
FIELD HIGHLIGHTS
The Wildcats had an impressive day in the women's high jump, highlighted by Alexa Porpaczy finishing second overall and Emma Gates finishing third. Porpaczy cleared 1.85m (6-0.75) and Gates cleared 1.82m (5-11.75), which are both new personal bests. Additionally, Talie Bonds placed seventh with a jump of 1.77m (5-9.75). Freshman Paris Mikinski also set a PR with a leap of 1.67m (5-5.75).
Jordan Geist finished second overall in the men's weight throw with two tosses of 22.02m (72-3). In the women's weight throw, Ava David finished best for the Wildcats with a toss of 17.59m. Mackenna Orie also had a big PR throw of 16.54m.
Jenica Bosko set a huge personal best in the women's long jump with a leap of 6.12m (20-1) to finish fifth overall.
In the men's high jump, Kristjan Sigfinnsson set a new personal record after clearing 2.11m (6-11) and finishing fourth overall.
In the first section of the women's pole vault today, Malaya Abueg set a new personal record after clearing 3.61m (11-10.25).
TRACK HIGHLIGHTS
Trayvion White-Austin set a new Arizona school record in the men's indoor 200m, running a time of 20.97. Going sub-21 seconds, White-Austin shattered his previous PR of 21.13, and placed fifth overall. Earlier in the day, both James Onanubosi (21.45) and Diego Marquez (21.93) also set personal bests in the unseeded 200m. Isaac Davis also clocked a time of 21.59.
In the women's 200m, Lauryn Ford ran a PR time of 24.84 during the unseeded section of the event. Later on in the final, Jenica Bosko clocked a time of 23.75 to finish eighth and Neysia Howard also ran a 23.80.
Logan Hasher finished fourth in today's unseeded section of the men's 400m. He improved his personal best by over one second, running a 47.74. His brother, Brayden Hasher, also clocked a new PR time of 48.41.
The competition will continue tomorrow, with field events getting started at 8:30 a.m. MST and track events getting started at 9:45 a.m. MST. These first events of the day include the women's pole vault and women's 60m hurdles. Live results for all of Saturday's action can be found here.
