FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – No. 13 Arizona improved to 10-4 when it run-ruled Drake, 9-1, on Saturday to close out the Razorback Invitational.
Sophia Carroll hit a grand slam – her first home run of the season.
Devyn Netz did it all for Arizona, earning the win to improve to 5-4 in the circle and went 1-for-2 with a home run and a walk.
Blaise Biringer and
Allie Skaggs each logged two hits.
The Wildcats opened the game with a six-run first inning.
Carlie Scupin hit an RBI double and Carroll hit her grand slam. Arizona scored another on a fielding error by Drake in the top of the first.
Drake scored in the bottom of the first on an RBI groundout but
Allie Skaggs added another run for Arizona with an RBI single in the second for a 7-1 lead.
Devyn Netz tacked on two more for the Cats with a two-run homer in the top of the fourth. Netz hit four home runs in five games at the Razorback Invitational.
