PALO ALTO, Calif. – The GymCats fell to No. 24 Stanford, 196.275-195.700, on Saturday night in Maples Pavilion.
Three Wildcats earned career high scores and junior
Lara Burhans made her season debut on beam. Freshman
Emma Strom made her collegiate debut and performed on vault and floor.
Malia Hargrove earned a 39.350 in the all-around to place second.
Uneven Bars
Arizona scored a 48.775 on bars to open the meet.
Bailey McCabe led the way for the GymCats with a 9.825 and
Alysen Fears followed with a 9.80. Hargrove earned a 9.775 and
Elizabeth LaRusso posted a 9.70.
Vault
The GymCats took the lead after earning a 49.00 on vault in the second rotation. Hargrove paced Arizona with a 9.90. LaRusso and
Danielle Nosek each earned a 9.80.
Caroline Herry scored a 9.775 and
Emily Mueller posted a 9.725. Hargrove's 9.90 was good for first place on the event.
Floor Exercise
Arizona posted a 48.850 on floor in rotation three but Stanford regained the lead. Hargrove and Mueller earned a pair of 9.825s to lead the GymCats. Herry scored a 9.775 and
Libby Orman earned a 9.725. LaRusso posted a 9.70.
Balance Beam
Arizona scored a 49.075 on beam to close out the meet. Hargrove and Mueller led Arizona with a pair of 9.85s. Herry posted a 9.825 and
Alysen Fears earned a 9.775. Burhans made her season debut on beam with a 9.775.
