WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah – Arizona earned a 196.375 in Session 1 of the Pac-12 Championships on Saturday. The GymCats tied for a second-place finish in Session 1 and tied for a sixth-place finish overall.
The beam team scored a 49.400 on the event which ties for fourth-highest beam score in program history. Four GymCats posted career high scores and senior
Sirena Linton made her career debut on vault.
Floor Exercise
Arizona scored a 49.150 on floor to open the meet.
Malia Hargrove led the GymCats with a 9.875 in the anchor position. Emily scored a 9.85 while
Elena Deets and
Elizabeth LaRusso each earned 9.825s.
Caroline Herry and
Emma Strom posted a pair of 9.775s to round out the rotation.
Vault
The GymCats went to vault in the second rotation and scored a 48.850 on the event. Hargrove led Arizona again with a 9.825 as the anchor. Herry scored a 9.80 and
Jessica Castles and LaRusso earned 9.75s. Mueller posted a 9.725 and Linton earned a 9.70 in her vault debut.
Uneven Bars
In rotation three, Arizona earned a 48.975 on bars. Linton anchored the rotation with a career best 9.875.
Alysen Fears matched Linton's 9.875 while
Bailey McCabe and Mueller posted a pair of 9.75s. LaRusso and
Taylor Raskin both earned 9.725s.
Balance Beam
The GymCats finished the meet strong with a season high 49.400 on beam. Herry and Linton both earned 9.90s to lead the Cats. Castles and Mueller posted a pair of 9.875s and
Alysen Fears scored a 9.85.
