TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Gymnastics has been selected to participate in the NCAA Denver Regional at Magness Arena following an impressive final three weeks of the regular season, scoring 196.375 and above in all four competitions.
 
This is the Arizona's fourth straight regional appearance and 34th appearance all-time. The GymCats' season was highlighted by earning a 197.275 against BYU, the third-highest score in program history and the first time the program has scored a 197 since 2015.
 
"Our program is excited to compete in the NCAA Regionals for the 34th time," said head coach John Court. "I feel that we are peaking at the right time, and it will be a competitive weekend of gymnastics. This team has more to give and we want to show that in Denver."
 
Arizona finished the regular season with a 196.575 NQS, the GymCats' highest NQS since 2004, and will compete in a play-in meet against North Carolina on Thursday, March 30 at 1 p.m. MST. The winner will advance to the eight-team round of the Denver Regional.
 
Four GymCats were selected to compete as individuals in the postseason. Malia Hargrove qualified for vault (9.905 NQS), beam (9.895 NQS), and floor (9.90 NQS). Alysen Fears qualified on the uneven bars (9.895 NQS) while Jessica Castles (9.880 NQS) and Sirena Linton (9.880 NQS) qualified on the balance beam.
 
"I'm thrilled to be going to Denver for Regionals," sophomore Elizabeth LaRusso said. "This is an exciting opportunity to compete against great teams and we're excited to keep our momentum going and continue the climb."
