MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Arizona is sending a team of five swimmers and one diver to compete in the 2023 NCAA D1 Men's Swimming and Diving Championships this week in Minneapolis, Minn. The competitions will begin Wed. March 22 and run through Sat. March 25 at Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center. Daily coverage of the events will be covered by NCAA.com and all events will be streamed on ESPN+.
Wildcat freshman Ralph Daleiden, the only Arizona swimmer who will be racing individually, is set to swim the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle events. Freshman Tommy Palmer is also among the five swimmers, and will be racing alongside Wildcats Marin Ercegovic, Seth Miller and Ryan Perham in the 200 and 400 freestyle relays. This is the same relay team that set an Arizona program record in the 200 free at the 2023 Pac-12 Championships.
Senior Bjorn Markentin will be representing the diving side after qualifying in both the 1-meter and platform events at NCAA Diving Zones. At last year's championships, Markentin earned himself an All-American honor after placing 7th in the 1-meter dive.
